“My father was a knowledgeable amateur musician,” confides the creator of the festival. Towards the end of his life, he was accompanied by professional musicians; They gave a concert at our place, in Saint-Prex, which remained in our memories as the exchange between this 90-year-old music-loving businessman and these experienced musicians Athéna Carte and Alexandru Patrascu was rich and moving! Hazeline van Swaay-Hoog founded the St Prex Classics Festival (later renamed Luna Classics) in memory of her father, Dick Hoog, and brought this music-loving father back to life through the music he loved so much.

After the first edition in 2006, she invited soloists from Béjart Ballet to the program to include dance in honor of her mother who was a professional dancer and ballet teacher.

The creations of the festival were fully enhanced by the beauty of the historic places of St Prex: the Temple, the Medieval Village and later the LUNA amphitheater became, during the festival, scenes of pure exception.

St Prex Classics was the flagship classic event in the Lake Geneva region. The festival was intended to be as much a springboard for young talents as a place of multidisciplinary creation, where ballet, chamber music and opera complemented each other as much as they magnified each other.
